You should think about building a D2C brand now
I have never been a fan of D2C (Direct to Customer) businesses. I have always done B2B, and it worked well.
But I know, for a fact, that D2C will see a boom in Bangladesh within the next 3 years and if you are positioned right, you will make a LOT of money.
This Friday, I wanted to talk to you about the D2C boom and how you can participate in this massive opportunity.
Context
According to KPMG, India will see a $100b market in the D2C segment by 2030. The growth rate is about 40% and they will have 400m online shoppers within the next 5 years.
The numbers are massive - but the reasons are simple.
Two reasons:
Availability of fast Internet to everyone
D2C brands that grew on the back of performance marketing
That’s it.
There was no rocket science.
Now, Bangladesh has also seen post-pandemic escalation in the consumer market.
Chaldaal, Daraz and others are now common name and buying something online is not a “wonder” anymore.
But we still have a long way to go.
The way I see it is this, if you build a company in one of the below industries and then try a combination of influencer marketing + meta ads - the chance of you succeeding is very high, if you start now and continue for the next 3 years.

Now, these are not “innovative” industries. They are normal industries - but they will still work because there’s demand in the market.
All you need is to pick the perfect product (building one instead of importing is crucial), and then a combination of basic marketing.
That’s it.
Yes, it is that easy.
The D2C market will get crowded and very competitive, within 3 years, in my opinion so you have exactly till 2027-2028 to create a huge brand.
Will you do it?
Will you?
PS: I am still experimenting with the deliverability of Mugglememo/friday. We will keep it to Fridays only for the next few weeks. Hoping to get back to og schedule in the new year.
